IPL 2026 ESA Match Day to bring joy to 20,000 children at Wankhede: Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians batter Rohit Sharma said the IPL 2026 ESA Match Day at Wankhede Stadium will be a memorable occasion as nearly 20,000 children are set to attend the special fixture.
The annual Education and Sports for All (ESA) initiative, backed by the Reliance Foundation and Mumbai Indians, aims to give underprivileged children an opportunity to experience a live IPL match and interact with the spirit of sports.
The special match is expected to be held during Mumbai Indians’ final home game at the iconic Wankhede Stadium, where children from NGOs and various communities across Mumbai will fill the stands with energy and excitement.
Rohit Sharma praised the initiative and highlighted the emotional value of the event, saying the joy on the faces of children makes ESA Day one of the most special occasions of the IPL season.
The ESA initiative has become a major annual tradition for Mumbai Indians, with previous editions hosting between 18,000 and 19,000 children, including specially-abled kids.
Reliance Foundation founder Nita Ambani has earlier described ESA Day as a celebration of hope, dreams and inclusion, aimed at inspiring children through education and sports.
