Hindustan Zinc reports record Q1 profit of Rs 5,469 crore

Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world’s largest integrated zinc producer and among the top 10 silver producers globally, appointed Amarendu Prakash as the chief executive officer and whole-time director of the company effective August 1.

With over three decades of experience in India’s steel sector, he had previously served as the Chairman & Managing Director of SAIL from 2023 to 2026. During his tenure, he led transformative initiatives spanning operational excellence, capacity expansion, digital transformation, and organisational performance across one of India’s largest steel producers.

Hindustan Zinc contributed Rs 6, 450 crore to the national exchequer (including royalties), riding on its strongest-ever first-quarter performance in FY 27 with Rs 13,747 crore revenue and a net profit of Rs 5, 469 crore.
