Greenman Viral Desai clinches national energy conservation award for third consecutive time

Viral Sudhir Desai, a prominent environ-mentalist and industrialist from Gujarat, has once again brought national pride by winning the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award (NECA). The award was presented at a grand ceremony in New Delhi by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. This remarkable achievement marks Desai’s third consecutive Golden Trophy and his sixth National Award overall, underscoring his sustained and exceptional contribution to energy conservation and environmental protection.
Popularly known as the “Greenman,” Viral Desai has earned national recognition for implementing innovative and cutting-edge energy efficiency practices through his company. Notably, he emerged victorious in competition with some of the country’s leading textile companies. Beyond industrial initiatives, Desai’s commitment to environmental sustainability extends to urban development. He has successfully developed seven Urban Forests across Gujarat, significantly enhancing green cover, supporting biodiversity, and improving ecological balance in urban areas.
