Govt to launch DARPAN 2.0 dashboard to track schemes
The Delhi Government is set to roll out DARPAN 2.0, a unified digital dashboard that will track the performance of Government schemes and services in real time, officials said on Sunday. The platform aims to improve transparency, speed up decision-making, and fix gaps in service delivery by bringing data from multiple departments onto a single screen.
Developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, DARPAN 2.0 will give senior officials and departments a consolidated view of key programmes. It will allow them to monitor progress, spot delays early, and compare performance across departments using common indicators.
Delhi’s IT Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said the new system will help the Government move towards data-driven governance. “DARPAN 2.0 will break data silos and give real-time insights into how departments are performing. This will help officers act faster and ensure schemes reach people in a transparent manner,” he said. At present, many departments maintain separate management information systems. Officials say this leads to fragmented data and delays in action. DARPAN 2.0 seeks to address this by integrating multiple MIS platforms through secure application programming interfaces. The result will be a single, visually simple dashboard that shows the status of schemes at a glance.
The platform will track department-wise Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These will include progress against targets, timelines, and service delivery benchmarks. Live tracking tools and early-warning indicators will flag delays, bottlenecks, or underperformance before problems grow larger.
Officials involved in the project said the system will also support comparative analytics. This will allow departments to compare performance across districts or time periods. Senior officers can then identify best practices and replicate them in lagging areas.
The Government plans to roll out DARPAN 2.0 in phases over the next 12 to 16 weeks. Priority schemes will be onboarded first. More departments and services will be added gradually. Once the rollout is complete, nodal officers from all departments will be trained to use the platform effectively.
According to officials, DARPAN 2.0 is based on a centralised model that has already been tested at the national level. The Delhi version will be customised to reflect the capital’s administrative structure and local priorities. The dashboard will also be multilingual, making it easier for officers from different backgrounds to use it.
The Government believes the system will improve coordination between departments. Since data will be visible across offices, delays in one department that affect another can be addressed faster. Officials say this will reduce blame-shifting and improve accountability.
Apart from internal monitoring, DARPAN 2.0 is also seen as a foundation for future upgrades. These include predictive analytics to forecast risks, public-facing dashboards to share information with citizens, and the use of artificial intelligence for deeper analysis.
The initiative aligns with the Centre’s Digital India push and Delhi’s broader e-governance plans. Officials say better data will lead to better policy decisions, more efficient use of public funds, and improved citizen services.
NIC officials said the platform allows 24x7 monitoring of flagship schemes. It supports drill-down dashboards, KPI-based scorecards, and seamless data integration. This means senior leaders can move from a high-level view to detailed data with a few clicks. Once fully operational, DARPAN 2.0 is expected to change how the Delhi Government reviews performance. Instead of relying on periodic reports, officials will be able to track outcomes daily.
