Kapil Mishra reviews development works

Delhi Minister Kapil Mishra chaired a high-level meeting with officials to review development works in North-East Delhi and directed authorities to complete surveys and demarcation for road widening and removal of encroachments at the earliest.
The meeting was held at the Delhi Secretariat and was attended by Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, the District Magistrate of North-East Delhi, the Deputy Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, revenue officials, and other concerned authorities.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed issues related to road widening, encroachments, land acquisition, and the progress of infrastructure projects in the district. Mishra directed officials to conduct a fresh demarcation of encroachments on Karawal Nagar Road, particularly on the stretch between Dayalpur Chowk and Shiv Vihar T-junction. He instructed revenue officials to complete the demarcation work within the next two to three days.
He also ordered that the survey required for widening the road to 80 metres should be completed within one month. The survey will identify the properties and khasra numbers that may require minimal land acquisition for the road expansion project.
Officials said the widening of Karawal Nagar Road is aimed at improving traffic flow and strengthening road infrastructure in the area. Mishra said the North-East Delhi and Yamunapar regions are currently witnessing a major phase of development. He stressed that all development projects must be accelerated so that residents can benefit from them as soon as possible. He also said that the government has given clear directions that development works must meet strict quality standards.
“The government is committed to ensuring that development projects are completed quickly and without compromising on quality,” he said. The meeting also reviewed an issue related to alleged encroachment on a property located in New Chauhan Pura in Sadar Pur Gujran. The minister directed the Revenue Department to conduct a fresh inspection of the site to determine the actual situation on the ground. If encroachment is confirmed, officials were instructed to immediately inform the Municipal Corporation of Delhi so that appropriate action can be taken.
In another decision, Mishra directed officials to start the process of land acquisition for widening Kali Ghata Road. According to the proposal, the road will be expanded to a width of 60 feet. The Revenue Department was instructed to conduct the necessary site survey at the earliest.
Officials were also asked to ensure that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi submits the required proposal to the ward committee for approval without delay.
