Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan promises strict action against exam mafias

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has assured strict action against examination mafias and promised a transparent and error-free re-examination process following recent paper leak controversies.
He described the paper leak incident as extremely unfortunate and said the government was committed to protecting the interests of deserving students. He acknowledged that students’ trust had been shaken and stressed that authorities were taking strong corrective measures to restore confidence in the examination system.
The minister said the government does not want any student’s future to be compromised due to irregularities or criminal networks involved in examination fraud. He added that the decision to conduct re-examinations was taken to ensure fairness, transparency, and quality in the assessment process.
Pradhan also stated that the Central Bureau of Investigation is actively probing the matter and that those responsible for the leaks would face exemplary punishment. He emphasized that the government intends to take the investigation to its logical conclusion.
Addressing concerns over technical glitches in the Central Board of Secondary Education re-evaluation portal, the minister said CBSE is working to resolve all issues and improve the digital process for students.
To strengthen the online payment infrastructure for re-evaluation applications, CBSE has expanded its banking support system by involving four public sector banks, including State Bank of India, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, and Canara Bank.
The Education Minister appealed for public cooperation to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming examinations and reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining credibility in India’s education system.
