Dharmendra Pradhan, CM Rekha inaugurate CM Shri School

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated the CM Shri School at Sarojini Nagar and laid the foundation stones for 75 such schools across the Capital. The Government described the launch as the nation’s first AI-driven comprehensive education model in Government schools.
The initiative, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), aims to transform government schools into “Centres of Excellence” equipped with modern infrastructure and technology-enabled learning systems.
The Government said the move will prepare students not only for board examinations but also for global careers.
Addressing the gathering, Pradhan said the establishment of 75 CM Shri Schools is a significant step toward raising the standards of public education. He said these schools will provide children from economically weaker, lower, and middle-income families with facilities comparable to private institutions.
He congratulated the Delhi Government for its progress in the education sector within a year. He further added that Delhi is contributing actively to strengthening school education, higher education, and research-oriented learning in the country.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the CM Shri Schools are not merely new buildings but a structural reform in public education. She said the aim is to make Delhi’s children globally competitive by integrating technology, skill development, career guidance, and holistic learning into the curriculum. “These schools will prepare children not just for exams, but for life,” she said.
The Chief Minister announced that AI-enabled smart classrooms are being introduced with interactive panels, digital content, and modern teaching tools. These classrooms will enable personalised learning based on each student’s abilities.
Over 7,000 smart interactive boards will be installed, and 7,000 classrooms will be converted into AI-enabled smart classrooms before March 31.
A dedicated competitive examination portal has also been launched. It will support preparation for JEE, NEET, CUET, CLAT, and NDA directly within government schools. The portal will offer regular online tests and progress tracking.
The Chief Minister said multi-sectoral skill labs will introduce students to robotics, artificial intelligence, design, and mechatronics at an early stage. ICT labs will train students in digital literacy, coding, and computational thinking. Digitised libraries will provide access to e-books, research material, and resources for competitive exams.
Career labs will assess students’ interests and aptitude and guide them toward higher education and employment pathways.
‘Science of Living’ spaces will focus on mental well-being, moral education, and personality development. Language labs will promote multilingual education and foreign language learning. For the first time, mandatory industry-linked internships will be introduced in government schools to provide practical exposure during schooling.
