Delhi Weather Alert: IMD Issues Orange Warning for Thunderstorms, Dust Storm Likely

The India Meteorological Department has issued orange and yellow alerts for parts of New Delhi, warning of thunderstorms, dust storms, and light rain on Tuesday.
An orange alert—indicating residents should “be prepared”—has been sounded for southwest Delhi. The weather office has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds of up to 60 kmph, along with lightning and brief spells of rain.
Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for northwest, west, north, south, and southeast Delhi. These areas may witness thunderstorms and gusty winds, with authorities advising people to remain cautious.
According to experts, the national capital is also likely to experience dust storms in the coming days due to a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan and adjoining regions of Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab. This system is expected to carry dust from desert areas of Rajasthan towards Delhi.
The shift in weather conditions may bring temporary relief from the ongoing heat but could also lead to sudden changes in wind patterns and air quality across the city.
