PM Modi Inaugurates Projects Worth Rs 1,050 Crore in Varanasi; Launches Major Infrastructure Push

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth over ₹1,050 crore in Varanasi and laid the foundation stone for additional projects valued at around ₹5,300 crore, marking a major infrastructure push in his Lok Sabha constituency.
During his two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister inaugurated 48 completed projects and launched 112 new ones covering sectors such as healthcare, urban development, transport, water supply, and tourism.
Key completed projects include the widening of the Varanasi–Azamgarh road, rail over bridges at Kazzakpura and Kadipur, and a 55 MLD sewage treatment plant in Bhagwanpur aimed at improving sanitation infrastructure.
Among the new projects, foundation stones were laid for major developments including a 500-bed super-specialty hospital at Shri Shiv Prasad Gupta District Hospital, multiple sewage and water supply schemes under AMRUT 2.0, redevelopment of hospitals, and construction of market and office complexes in Bhojuveer and Sigra.
The plan also includes renovation of ponds, expansion of critical care facilities, and development of tourism infrastructure at major ghats such as Assi Ghat, Dashashwamedh Ghat, and Namo Ghat, boosting the city’s cultural and tourism appeal.
In addition, Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the Varanasi Junction–Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction third and fourth railway line project, which also includes a rail-cum-road bridge over the Ganga River.
As part of his visit, the Prime Minister also transferred over ₹105 crore as bonus payments to milk suppliers in Uttar Pradesh associated with Banas Dairy.
The initiative is expected to strengthen infrastructure, improve urban services, and enhance connectivity in the region while boosting local economic development.
