Congress marks Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary with hospital visits, aid to slum children

Congress workers led by former MLA Sushila Jaikishan and Kirari District President Varun Dhaka marked former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary on Thursday. The leaders distributed fruits to patients at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital, Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital and Maharishi Valmiki Hospital.
Sports equipment and clothing were also distributed to underprivileged children in slum areas to promote sportsmanship. Workers raised slogans praising Rajiv Gandhi during the event. Dhaka described Rajiv Gandhi as a pioneer of India’s communications revolution and the architect of Panchayati Raj, noting he became the country’s youngest prime minister. Dhaka said the Congress has consistently supported the poor, Dalits, women, youth, labourers and farmers, citing Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi as examples of this commitment.
Among those participating in the constituency-wide distribution drive were Youth Congress SC Department Vice President Rahul Dhaka, District President Zahir Mansoori, and Block President Chandan Singh, along with several other party workers including Deepak Chunnilal, Pramod Panchal and Vijay Prakash Khandelwal.
