Commercial LPG prices cut by Rs 183.50; household rates unchanged

Commercial LPG users across India received significant relief on July 1 as oil marketing companies reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹183.50. The price cut comes after months of steep increases driven by geopolitical tensions in West Asia and supply disruptions linked to the Iran conflict. The revised rates took effect immediately and are expected to lower operating costs for restaurants, hotels, caterers, and other businesses that depend heavily on commercial cooking gas.
In Delhi, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has dropped from ₹3,113.50 to ₹2,930. However, there is no relief for households, as the price of the standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged. Oil companies review LPG prices on the first day of every month, with commercial rates closely linked to international energy prices and market conditions, while domestic prices are also influenced by government policy.
The latest reduction is expected to ease financial pressure on the hospitality sector, which had faced rising fuel costs in recent months. While businesses welcome the move, domestic consumers will have to wait for any revision in household LPG prices.
