CM Suvendu promises all West Bengal LS seats to PM

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for delivering the State from the clutches of the communists and Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress and promised to present all 42 Lok Sabha seats to him and the BJP in the next parliamentary elections in return.
“Before the Assembly elections this year the Prime Minister had made certain pledges to the people of Bengal should the BJP come to power in the State… the people reposed faith in him, and we won the elections following which we have unleashed a series of reforms from implementing Ayushman Bharat to PM housing scheme to providing land to the BSF for border fencing,” the CM said, adding he was “indebted to the Prime Minister for delivering Bengal from the 50-year misrule of the communists and TMC which or else Bengal would have been finished.”
All the three lakh infiltrators in India were routed through Mamata Bengal under Mamata Banerjee’s patronage, he alleged, saying “appeasement politics has now given way to nationalism as Modi ji as taught India the true meaning of nationalism, which is why I promise to offer him all the Lok Sabha seats from the State in the next parliamentary elections.”
The Chief Minister was speaking at an event marking the historic milestone of Modi’s 25 continuous years as Head of Government — first as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and then as the Prime Minister of India.
Meanwhile, the Bengal BJP on Wednesday organised several programmes, including torch rallies across the state and a special exhibition in Kolkata, as part of the centrally planned ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra completing 25 years in public life.
The initiative coincided with the culmination of the nationwide Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.
Programmes were held at the BJP’s headquarters in all 23 organisational districts, with speeches by national president Nitin Nabin and Modi screened on giant displays before the party workers.
A special exhibition at the Indian Museum showcased Modi’s tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and his performance as the Prime Minister since 2014, which mentioned the development and welfare initiatives initiated by his Government.
Elsewhere, the Mamata Trinamool Congress on Wednesday hit out at the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for “beating his own drum regardless of the contempt nourished by the countrymen for his forgettable rule.”
Referring to the new slogan — “we will do it” — coined by the Prime Minister at the culmination of Seva Sankalp Aviyan senior TMC leader and MLA Kunal Ghosh said, “saying shouting we will do it he should first give an account of what he has done… he has made people stand in lines after demonetisation in turn ruining the middle and small scale industries of the country, he has finished the democratic environment of the country and eaten up jobs, given intense poverty… which is why his Government will not survive beyond the next elections… so he will not get the chance to fulfill his ‘we will do it’ slogan.”
