CM Rekha hails new model of Delhi governance

Marking one year of her government, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday said the past 365 days have laid a “strong foundation for a Viksit Delhi” through transparency, infrastructure push and digital governance reforms.
Addressing a public programme at Namo Ground in Khajuri Chowk under the North East Delhi Parliamentary Constituency, the Chief Minister described the first year in office as a period defined by “public trust, commitment to service and the outcomes of good governance”.
Calling it the “first step of change and one year of development”, the Chief Minister said the slogan reflected tangible transformation in the lives of Delhi’s citizens. She said the government has focused on transparent administration, a corruption-free system, faster infrastructure development, digital governance and welfare-oriented schemes.
“New momentum, new direction and new confidence have emerged in Delhi,” she said, adding that the government has prioritised the interests of all sections, including the poor, workers, women, youth and the middle class. She claimed that a new model of governance has been established in the capital and expressed confidence that the pace of development will accelerate further in the coming years.
She thanked party workers and citizens for their support and said their trust remains the government’s biggest strength. “Our resolve to build a Viksit Delhi will continue to move forward,” she said.
Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra, who also addressed the gathering, said more than 365 works have been completed in 365 days under the Chief Minister’s leadership.
He described the year as the beginning of a new era of transformation in the Capital. Mishra said Delhi had waited 27 years to see a Chief Minister on stage amid chants of “Jai Shri Ram”, calling it a reflection of the people’s mandate. He added that the government today remains accessible to the public round the clock.
Listing achievements, he said the government has worked on setting up Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, running Atal Canteens, inducting electric buses, improving roads and promoting Delhi’s art and culture. He also mentioned the organisation of major events such as Kanwar Seva, Chhath Puja and Deepawali celebrations.
He said earlier there were instances when people faced cases for going to the Yamuna banks for Chhath Puja, but today commitments made to the public are being fulfilled.
State BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, MPs Manoj Tiwari and Yogendra Chandolia, Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, MLA Ajay Mahawar and several other public representatives were present at the event.
The programme was held to celebrate the completion of one year of the government. The Chief Minister said the enthusiasm at the venue reflected strong public support for the administration’s development agenda.
