CBI seizes `21 lakh cash from premises of CWC manager arrested in bribery case

The CBI seized `21 lakh cash and jewellery from the premises of a Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) manager who was recently arrested in a bribery case, officials said on Saturday.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is looking into the role of other officials of the CWC in the case, they said.

“The CBI conducted searches at the residential premises linked to the accused manager, which led to the recovery of cash worth `21 lakh, a huge amount of jewellery, property papers and digital evidence from the premises,” a CBI spokesperson said in a statement.

The accused manager had demanded a bribe of `1 lakh from a contractor to allow him to continue the awarded work.
