BJP retreats in Parliament under Rahul’s offensive, Telangana Congress

Telangana Congress spokesperson Bandi Sudhakar Goud has appreciated senior party leader Rahul Gandhi for raising serious and concerning issues on the floor of Parliament, which has rattled the ruling BJP and their leaders are on the defensive.
“His recent intervention on the “Epstein Files” issue and his strong criticism of the Modi government’s alleged negligence, as mentioned in former Army Chief General Naravane’s book, have created a major stir in national politics. With these developments, Rahul Gandhi has asserted himself as a formidable Leader of the Opposition, while the BJP has been pushed into damage-control mode—a discussion now echoing across the country. For the past decade, the ruling BJP attempted to politically sideline Rahul Gandhi by branding him as “Pappu.” Today, however, the same party appears rattled,” Goud said in a Press statement.
He further states that when Rahul raised sensitive issues concerning national security, the BJP allegedly attempted to divert public attention by introducing what critics describe as a “no-confidence drama.” “Through BJP MP Nishikant Dubey, privilege notices were reportedly moved against Rahul Gandhi, portraying his allegations as baseless and attempting to intimidate him. However, the situation took a dramatic turn when Rahul declared he was ready to prove every allegation he made,” Goud said.
Realising that the notices might not stand legal scrutiny and that any reversal could severely damage the party’s credibility, the BJP Government is said to have stepped back, he added.
The party spokesman said, unlike Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah — whom critics accuse of dividing people along religious lines, spreading misinformation, and engaging in rhetoric under the banner of nationalism — Rahul Gandhi positions himself differently.
“As a scion of the Gandhi family with decades of public service, he claims his objective is to hold the central Government accountable for its alleged neglect of public concerns. Observers note that his speeches in Parliament reflect the qualities of a mature leader, with some political analysts even suggesting he demonstrates traits of a potential future Prime Minister.
Unable to effectively counter his questions, the BJP Government has allegedly resorted to expunging portions of Rahul Gandhi’s speeches from official records. To many, this indicates the extent to which his arguments have unsettled the ruling establishment,” he added.
