Bhopal Court extends Judicial custody of Twisha Sharma's husband and Mother-in-law till June 30

A court in Bhopal has extended the judicial custody of Twisha Sharma’s husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh till June 30 in connection with the ongoing investigation into the alleged dowry death case.
According to court proceedings, the accused were produced before the judicial magistrate as their earlier custody period ended. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is handling the probe, sought an extension of judicial custody, which was granted by the court.
Both accused are currently lodged in Bhopal Central Jail and are facing charges related to alleged dowry harassment and mental torture that reportedly led to the death of Twisha Sharma, a 33-year-old model and former beauty pageant contestant.
The case dates back to May 12, when Twisha Sharma was found dead at her marital home in Bhopal under suspicious circumstances. Her family had alleged sustained harassment and dowry demands by her in-laws, prompting a detailed investigation.
The CBI took over the probe following concerns raised over the initial investigation and is currently collecting forensic evidence and recording witness statements.
The court had earlier remanded both accused to judicial custody for 14 days, which has now been further extended as the investigation continues.
Officials said the probe remains active and further developments are expected as the agency examines digital and forensic evidence linked to the case.
