Assam Rifles organises mega ex-servicemen rally at Salugara, West Bengal today

In a heartfelt tribute to the brave veterans of West Bengal and nearby centres, the Assam Rifles organized a mega Ex-Servicemen Rally under the aegis of the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles at Gp Centre CRPF (Salugara), West Bengal. The rally, themed Serving Those Who Served Us, witnessed the participation of over 700 ex-servicemen, including Gallantry awardees, Veer Naris, widows, and their dependents from across the state.
The event aimed to honour the invaluable contributions of the veterans, strengthen bonds with them and address their concerns. Lieutenant General Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General of Assam Rifles, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Director General of Assam Rifles commended the unwavering dedication of the veterans and serving soldiers from West Bengal and its nearby centres, who have played a pivotal role in safeguarding the nation’s security and prosperity.

The Director General described these Ex- Servicemen as ambassadors with a mission of working towards the betterment of the region and the locals of their respective villages.
He stressed that the experience these Ex-Servicemen carry in terms of a disciplined and trained soldier has the potential to make a significant contribution in social development activities. He advised them not to be proactive in the post-retirement period and play an active role in nation-building.
The Director General of Assam Rifles highlighted the various beneficiary schemes available to veterans at the venue, to include Med Camps by (ECHS Empaneled Hospital), Grievance Cell by the Force and banking facilities, which covered the various aspects related to DSP Accounts, update of KYC, queries related to debit/credit card and net banking, etc. He also emphasised the efforts to revitalize the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen Association (ARESA) and introduced the monthly Samman Samaroh to honour the esteemed service by our soldiers.
The rally concluded with a communal lunch, where the ex-servicemen expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for organising the event and reaffirming their commitment to their welfare.
This Assam Rifles Ex- Servicemen Rally brought together the serving and the retired fraternity of Assam Rifles like never before. The Ex-Servicemen of Assam Rifles were reassured that the Assam Rifles remembered them for their contributions and would look after their welfare and redress their grievances genuinely and in a time-bound manner.
The Assam Rifles remains dedicated to honouring the sacrifices of its veterans and ensuring their well-being through such initiatives, embodying the spirit of Serving Those Who Served Us.
