Assam hosts state-level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament

The State Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament (VBYP) 2026 was inaugurated on Wednesday at the Assam Legislative Assembly in Dispur, marking a significant platform for the State’s young minds to engage in democratic dialogue and public policy.
Organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Assam, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), the two-day event brings together youth representatives from across the State. Participants, having qualified through rigorous district-level competitions, are presenting their perspectives on the theme, “Union Budget 2026: Strengthening the Indian Youth’s Path towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
“The event, scheduled for March 11 and 12, serves as a qualifier for the national stage. According to the organisers, the top three participants from this session will be selected to represent Assam at the upcoming National Level Youth Parliament in New Delhi. The inaugural session was graced by several dignitaries, including Kausar Jamil Hilaly, Special Secretary to the Government of Assam, Sports & Youth Welfare Department, and Pradip Handique, Joint Secretary, Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
Also present were D Carthigueane, Regional Director of the NSS Regional Directorate, Guwahati; Dinobondhu Saha, Joint Director, MY Bharat; and Jangjilong, Youth Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Guwahati.
