9 Dead in Delhi Building Fire, AC Blast Suspected

Nine people, including a child, were killed after a massive fire broke out in a four-storey residential building in Vivek Vihar early Sunday morning. Two others were injured and shifted to hospital.
According to Rajendra Prasad Meena, the fire started around 4 am and was brought under control after nearly two hours. More than a dozen residents were rescued during the operation.
Officials said most casualties were reported from the second and third floors of the building. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, though some residents claimed an air-conditioner blast may have triggered the blaze.
CM Rekha Gupta called the incident tragic and said all agencies were engaged in rescue and relief work. She also assured support to the affected families.
