BRS leader hits out at Telangana Govt over unfulfilled promise of two lakh jobs

Alleging that the Congress Government has not fulfilled its promise of providing two lakh jobs in the first year of its tenure, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Monday said Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy should answer to the youth over the assurance.

Gandhi, who had promised two lakh jobs, is silent now, he said.

“A youth attempted suicide in Khammam district in protest against jobs not being given, though a job calendar was announced two years ago and Gandhi promised two lakh jobs in the first year (of Congress Government),” Rao told reporters here.

The senior Congress leader, who previously visited Ashok Nagar, the hub of coaching centres in Hyderabad, is not coming to the city now, he said. “Gandhi visits different places carrying the Constitution book in his hand. But he does not come to states where the party is in power,” he said.

The youth who allegedly attempted suicide is from Madhira, represented in the Assembly by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, he said.

The State Government had informed in a written reply that it filled up over 16,978 vacancies, he said.

If the vacancies which were notified during the BRS regime are exempted, the Congress Government has not filled up even 10,000 vacancies, the BRS leader claimed. The suicide note of the youth is a chargesheet against the Government, he added. CM Reddy said in July that the Congress Government removed all obstacles in job recruitment and filled up 70,000 vacancies.
