2 Dead, 4 injured near Tezu after heavy rain in Arunachal Pradesh landslide

At least 2 people were killed and four others injured after a massive landslide triggered by incessant rainfall struck the Shivaji Nagar area near Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh's Lohit district. The victims were reportedly migrant labourers working at a local construction site.
According to officials, several labourers were trapped under debris after the hillside collapsed. Rescue teams managed to pull out the injured, while two bodies were recovered from the site. One labourer is reported to have escaped on his own before rescue operations began.
The district administration, along with the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Arunachal Pradesh Police and other emergency agencies, launched rescue and relief operations in the affected area. The injured have been shifted to hospital for treatment.
The incident comes amid persistent heavy rainfall across Arunachal Pradesh, which has triggered floods and landslides in several districts. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued weather alerts warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall, flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as rain continues to batter the region, affecting road connectivity and disrupting normal life in several parts of the state.
