Two Odisha men arrested in Bhopal for smuggling 11.05 Kg Cannabis

Bhopal crime branch arrested drug peddler smugglers involved in illegal drug trade and 11.05 kg Cannabis and a car worth Rs. 1.2 lakh was recovered from the accused.

Acting on a tip off, the crime branch detained two men in a Tata Punch Grey colour car number CG04PN0205 in TRT Govindpura Bhopal near Agarwal Hotel and have Cannabis in the car and are waiting for a customer to sell.

On the basis of informer's information, TRT reached Govindpura Bhopal, near Agarwal Hotel, the place told by the informer, where as per the description given by the informer, two boys and the car no. CG04PN0205 were searched and after they were spotted they were detained and when the car was checked Cannabis was recovered from the car.

The two were identified as Prakash Mahaldar(32)  and Sanjay Vishwash (48) of Odisha. 

A total of 9 packets wrapped with brown tape were found inside an orange and green colored backpack on the rear seat of the car. On asking the suspect, Sanjay Vishwas said that these were his and that the said packets contained ganja. Later, on checking a black colored backpack near the feet next to the driver's seat of the car, 8 packets wrapped with brown colored tape were found inside it. On asking about this, the suspect Prakash Mahaldar said that these were his. Panchnama was prepared for this. Later, 09 packets wrapped with brown colour tape were found inside the orange and green coloured backpack of accused Sanjay Vishwas. When checked thoroughly, the said packets contained a bud, leafy-stalked, moist and strong smelling substance. When the said substance was identified on the basis of experience and training after smelling and crushing it, it was found to be the narcotic substance ganja and 8 packets wrapped with brown colour tape were found inside the black coloured backpack of accused Prakash Mahaldar. When checked thoroughly, the said packets contained a bud, leafy-stalked, moist and strong smelling substance. When the said substance was identified on the basis of experience and training after smelling and crushing it, it was found to be the narcotic substance ganja. When weighed on a weighing scale, the total weight was found to be 6.37 kg and the narcotic substance ganja recovered from accused Prakash Mahaldar was kept in a blue plastic foil and weighed on a weighing scale along with the foil, then the total weight was found to be 05 kg 140 grams.

After taking out a little substance from all the above packets, rubbing, smelling and burning it and checking on the basis of training and experience, it was found to be ganja.

Since the act of the accused is punishable under section 8/20 NDPS Act, the crime was registered in the police station crime branch and investigation was taken up. And the accused was presented in the honorable court.
