In a major boost to Haryana’s healthcare, education, and infrastructure sectors, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday approved development works worth over Rs 2,330 crore during a meeting of the High-Powered Purchase Committee (HPPC) and High-Powered Works Purchase Committee (HPWPC). The state also achieved significant cost savings of approximately Rs 106 crore through negotiations with bidders.
Among the most notable approvals was the construction of a Mother and Child Hospital within the premises of BK (Civil) Hospital in Faridabad, aimed at enhancing maternal and pediatric care in the region. In Karnal district’s Assandh town, a new 100-bed government hospital was also greenlit to improve healthcare accessibility in the area.
Further strengthening the education infrastructure, the government approved the establishment of a new Government College in Bhaindoli village in Palwal district. In addition, boys’ and girls’ hostels will be constructed at Maharshi Valmiki Sanskrit University in Mundhri, Kaithal.
A slew of infrastructure projects also received approval, including Phase-5 development in HSIIDC IMT Manesar, which will see expansion of industrial and basic infrastructure facilities. To support the Global City Project in Sector-37, Gurugram, the committee cleared essential infrastructure work, including roads and public health services for the R&R area.
In a move to address water and sanitation needs, the government sanctioned the establishment of a 22 MLD Water Treatment Plant and a 10 MLD Common Effluent Treatment Plant in Industrial Estate, Panipat. For enhanced sewerage management, approval was granted for the procurement of 18 super sucker machines.
To conserve and expand water flow in the Saraswati River, the state will construct RCC retaining walls along key sections in Kurukshetra district, along with the rehabilitation of the NBK Link Channel and Saraswati Feeder in Kurukshetra and Karnal.
Taking serious note of incomplete and substandard work at Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College in Nalhar, Nuh, the Chief Minister ordered strict action against the errant contractor and officer, warning that no compromise on quality or delays in public projects would be tolerated.
The government also approved the upgradation of roads in Panipat’s industrial sectors, Rohtak’s IDC, and Phase-II of Rohtak’s major roads, along with 24 ready-built factory units in the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster in Sohna.
Additionally, procurement was approved for items required at 780 Mahila Sanskritik Kendras across the state, signaling a strong commitment to women’s empowerment and cultural initiatives.
