Theme song for 68th National School Sports Competition launched

For the 68th National School Sports Competition, State Education Project Director Shashi Ranjan while addressing a press conference at the Jharkhand Education Project Council on Friday described the role of journalists as incomparable in the success of the event.

Administrative Officer of JEPC Sachchidanand D Tigga, State Program Officer Dhirasen Soreng and Jharkhand Olympic Association Treasurer Shivendranath Dubey were also present on the occasion.

Ranjan informed that the sports competition will be inaugurated by the Education Minister Ramdas Soren at Bhagwan Birsa Munda Football Stadium in Morhabadi on January 5 at 4 pm. In the inaugural ceremony, Departmental Secretary Umashankar Singh, Sports Director Sandeep Kumar, officials of the Education and Sports Department as well as officials of sports associations will also participate.

The official stated that teams have started coming to Ranchi for the event and as many as 35 teams from across the country will arrive in the State capital by tomorrow. Adequate arrangements for accommodation and medical services for the teams have been made. A total of 17 committees have been given the responsibility to handle the arrangements and their work is being continuously monitored.

Ranjan also launched the theme song "Khelega India- Jeetega India" for the National School Sports Competition to be held in Ranchi. As per the instructions of the State Program Officer, the lyrics of the theme song have been written by M Modassar, while this song has been composed by music composer Rohan Dev Pathak. The visuals of the theme song depict scenes from the state level Khelo Jharkhand competition and national school games held in the State so far.

For the competition, the teams that arrived on Friday include those from Telangana, Lakshadweep, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, CISCE, Rajasthan, Vidyabharati, DAV, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh, Jammu Kashmir, Tripura, Kerala, Dadra and Nagar Haveli Daman, Bihar, Punjab and Odisha.

Ensuring a tribal welcome, the teams were greeted with lota paani and tribal gamchha of Jharkhand while the players were encouraged with flower garlands.
