Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Public Health & Medical Education, Rajendra Shukla, performed the Bhoomi Pujan for a state-of-the-art 50-bed hospital in Ghattia on Friday. The hospital, being constructed at a cost of Rs 9.95 crore, aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in the region. The event was presided over by local MLA Satish Malviya.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, Deputy CM Shukla emphasized the state government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities at the block level. He reiterated that efforts are being made to equip community health centers with necessary medical infrastructure to ensure better healthcare access for rural populations.
Shukla assured that the Ghattia hospital will be completed soon, with the recruitment of paramedical and medical staff following its inauguration. He also announced the government’s plan to recruit 30,000 medical personnel across Madhya Pradesh in the coming years. “Madhya Pradesh is no longer a BIMARU state. It is progressing rapidly with significant improvements in healthcare and education. Additionally, the government is working on interlinking rivers, expanding irrigation coverage, and improving overall infrastructure,” he stated.
The hospital is expected to be completed within 15 months. Minister Shukla directed construction officials to ensure high-quality work and expedite the project ahead of schedule. He also approved the demand for an ambulance service in Ghattia and instructed officials to draft a comprehensive plan to address the region's healthcare needs.
MLA Satish Malviya, speaking on the occasion, highlighted that the hospital would serve nearly 100 villages surrounding Ghattia. He noted that previously, residents had to travel to Ujjain for medical emergencies, but with the new hospital, healthcare services will be available locally.
MLA Malviya further proposed several additional healthcare initiatives, including the establishment of a new Community Health Center in Unhel, the upgrading of the Primary Health Center in Paan Bihar, the commencement of ambulance services in Ghattia, and the installation of essential infrastructure such as a boundary wall, a postmortem room, and a lift at the new hospital.
The hospital’s establishment is expected to significantly enhance medical services in the region, marking a crucial step towards Madhya Pradesh's goal of becoming a leading state in healthcare development.
Deputy CM Shukla extended his best wishes to the people of Ghattia on this significant occasion.
