Filmmaker Prakash Jha to invest in Jharkhand

Country's renowned filmmaker and director Prakash Jha reached Ranchi on Wednesday. He met Tourism, Art and Urban Development Minister Sudhivya Sonu and he expressed his willingness to work in the State. Many issues and talks took place between the two in this meeting that lasted for hours.

Giving information on social media, the minister said that there was a positive conversation with Prakash Jha on tourism, art and investment opportunities.

Sudhivya Sonu has said in a social media post that he met famous filmmaker Prakash Jha. During this, there was a positive discussion on tourism, art and potential investment opportunities in Jharkhand, he added.

Let us tell you that Prakash Jha has many popular films. Due to which he has got fame in the country and abroad, which includes many films including Gangaajal, Politics, Abduction, Chakravyuh, Damul and Mrityudand.

Famous filmmaker Prakash Jha was raised on his family farm in Barharwa village in Bettiah, West Champaran district of Bihar. He received his early education from Sainik School, Tilaiya, District Koderma and Kendriya Vidyalaya No 1, Bokaro Steel City, Jharkhand.

Jha then joined Ramjas College, Delhi University to pursue B.Sc (Hons) in Physics. However, he left his studies after a year and moved to Mumbai with the aim of becoming a painter. While preparing for admission to JJ School of Arts, he saw the shooting of the film Dharma, which inspired him towards filmmaking. He then completed his graduation from KC College, Mumbai.

Prakash Jha enrolled in the Pune-based Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in 1973 to pursue a course in editing. However, the institute was closed for some time due to student movements during the same period. As a result, he returned to Mumbai and started working from there. He did not return to FTII again to complete the course.
