Review of development projects, emphasizes timely completion and accountability

A comprehensive review meeting was held under the chairmanship of East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal to assess the status of projects under unallocated funds, CSR initiatives, MP and MLA funds, DMFT, and various technical departments. Senior officials, including ADM (Law and Order) Aniket Sachan, Civil Surgeon Dr. Sahir Pal, NEP Director Santosh Garg, Planning Officer-in-Charge Mrityunjay Kumar, and Executive Engineer (Roads) Deepak Sahay, participated in the meeting.  

 

During the review, the Deputy Commissioner issued a show-cause notice to the NREP Executive Engineer for unapproved absence and emphasized expediting pending projects. He directed officials to blacklist contractors responsible for delays and ensure timely submission of utilization certificates for completed projects.  

 

Under unallocated funds for FY 2023-24, 69 out of 79 projects are complete, while 10 remain pending. For FY 2024-25, 35 out of 99 projects are complete, with 64 still in progress. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of accelerating work on pending initiatives.  

 

CSR projects were reviewed, with a focus on health-related initiatives, including ambulance services, healthcare improvements in UCIL mining areas, community infrastructure, high-mast lighting, and road upgrades.  

 

Projects funded by MPs and MLAs were also discussed. Under the MP fund for FY 2023-24, 75 out of 132 projects are complete, while 57 are pending. Similarly, out of 525 MLA-funded projects, 251 are complete, and 274 are in progress. The Deputy Commissioner instructed officials to resolve local disputes and NOC-related issues to ensure timely execution.  

 

The technical departments, including the Special Division, Roads Division, Rural Works, Drinking Water, Minor Irrigation, Electricity, and Building Construction, were reviewed in detail. Officials were directed to maintain quality standards, address implementation issues promptly, and ensure proper coordination with local representatives.  

 

The meeting concluded with the Deputy Commissioner emphasizing interdepartmental coordination and setting clear timelines for completing pending projects while prioritizing quality and accountability.
