Rajasthan Foundation Day and Odisha Foundation Day celebrations were held at Raj Bhavan, Ranchi today in the august presence of Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar. Many citizens of Rajasthan and Odisha residing in Jharkhand were present on this occasion.

Addressing the function, the Governor said that due to being out of the state, the foundation day celebrations of both the states could not be held at Raj Bhavan on these dates. He highlighted the rich cultural, historical and social heritage of both the states and said that Rajasthan and Odisha are famous throughout the country for their unique traditions, valour, spirituality and cultural richness. Praising the heroic sagas and architecture of Rajasthan, he said that this land is famous in the world for Mewar, Marwar, Jaipur.

Referring to the glorious history of Odisha, the Governor said that this state is a center of spirituality and cultural heritage. The holy land of Lord Jagannath, the Sun Temple of Konark, the Rath Yatra Festival of Puri and the Odissi dance reflect the historical and cultural grandeur of this state. Referring to the 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' initiative, the Governor said that such events further strengthen the unity of India. He said that the foundation days of various states are celebrated with enthusiasm in Jharkhand Raj Bhavan. Recently, Bihar Foundation Day was celebrated. He said that unity in diversity is the biggest feature of India, which binds everyone together.

The Governor said that the rich cultural heritage and developmental outlook of both the states will prove helpful in making India stronger. Congratulating the citizens of Rajasthan and Odisha residing in Jharkhand, he called upon everyone to take inspiration from their glorious past and actively contribute to the development of the nation and the land of work.

Dr. Nitin Madan Kulkarni, Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor, while giving the welcome address, said that today the people of two states are gathered here together and celebrating the Foundation Day celebrations. This also presents an excellent example of the spirit of 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'. He said that Rajasthan has played an important role in the Indian freedom struggle and the people here are making important contributions to the army. At the same time, our neighbouring state is full of mineral wealth like Jharkhand.
