Saturday, 22 February 2025 | PNS | Bhopal

Madhya Pradesh is set to witness a significant boost in the IT sector with investment proposals worth over Rs 20,000 crore, expected to generate employment for more than 1.5 lakh people. Thirteen IT and ITES companies have submitted proposals to invest approximately Rs 5,000 crore and provide jobs to about one lakh individuals. In the Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector, eight companies have proposed investments of Rs 12,000 crore, aiming to create employment opportunities for over 11,000 people. Additionally, five companies have come forward with proposals worth Rs 2,500 crore in the data center sector, intending to employ 800 people.

The drone sector is also receiving a major push, with two companies proposing to invest Rs 160 crore and generate more than 25,000 jobs. Furthermore, two companies in the Global Capability Centers (GCC) sector have put forth proposals of Rs 700 crore, planning to employ over 40,000 individuals. The Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics, and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) sector is also gaining traction, with four companies proposing an investment of Rs 100 crore to create more than 3,000 jobs.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized that these investments will provide substantial employment opportunities and bolster the state’s IT ecosystem. To further encourage investment in IT, ITES, ESDM, and Data Centers, the State Cabinet has approved amendments to the Madhya Pradesh IT, ITES, and ESDM Investment Promotion Policy-2023. The revised policy ensures benefits such as single-window clearance, assistance in capital expenditure and rent, affordable land rates, exemptions in stamp duty and registration, and support in marketing and quality control.

In a strategic move to position Madhya Pradesh as a leader in drone technology, the government has approved the "Madhya Pradesh Drone Promotion and Use Policy-2025." Departments and agencies have been directed to formulate an action plan to create a robust ecosystem for drone manufacturing and technology. This initiative aims to drive innovation, economic prosperity, and employment generation through the safe and efficient use of drones.

Furthering its commitment to digital transformation, the government has also introduced the "Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Policy-2025" and the "Madhya Pradesh Global Capability Center (GCC) Policy-2025." These policies aim to attract multinational companies, establish the state as a digital and technological hub, and contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a self-reliant and digitally empowered India.

Additionally, the government has taken a significant step towards fostering the creative economy by launching the AVGC-XR Policy 2025. This initiative seeks to position Madhya Pradesh as a global leader in the fields of animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality.

The upcoming Global Investors Summit-2025 will serve as a crucial platform for showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s investment potential at an international level. Scheduled for inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, the summit is expected to further enhance investment opportunities in the state.

According to Additional Chief Secretary of Science and Technology, General Administration Department, Sanjay Dubey, the summit will feature panel discussions on key topics, including GCC, semiconductor and electronic manufacturing, drone and space technology, and the emerging AVGC ecosystem.
