Govt school students experience corporate and cultural excellence

Thursday, 09 January 2025 | PNS | Jamshedpur

In an initiative led by Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal, 420 students from 14 government schools in the district were taken on an educational tour to various renowned companies, sports complexes, art and cultural centers, and technical training institutions located in the city. The students, coming from remote rural areas, had the opportunity to explore the rich legacy of art and culture, the thriving sports tradition, the work culture of world-class companies, and a combination of technology and practical knowledge. The tour included visits to notable sites such as the J.R.D. Tata Sports Complex, J.N.T.V.T.I, N.T.T.F., Jharkhand Rifle Club's shooting range, Tata Steel USIL, Tribal Culture Center, CSIR-NML, and Tata Motors.

The students, selected through internal competitions at their respective schools, participated in this exposure visit as part of a broader effort to provide them with practical knowledge and career insights. Schools involved in the tour included Utkramit Plus Two High School from Jwalahkata, Manoharlal Plus Two High School from Chakulia, Shivlal Plus Two High School from Musabani, and several others from across the district.

The participating students expressed their gratitude for the opportunity, sharing how this visit allowed them to gain firsthand experience of the operations of large companies and institutions they had previously only read about in books. They found the experience to be enlightening and inspiring.

District Magistrate  Mittal expressed his happiness with the success of the initiative, noting that it would help students develop a sense of cultural, historical, and national awareness. He emphasized that the objective of the exposure visit was to give students broad experiences and open up multiple career paths for them in the future. The initiative also aimed to promote practical education and observational learning, helping students learn and absorb new concepts with an open mind. The next exposure visit, scheduled for January 16, will involve students from Ashtakoshi Plus Two High School, Bhalukpatar, Dumuria, visiting the Indo-Danish Tool Room in Adityapur.  Mittal expressed hope that such visits would continue to support the comprehensive development of students.
