The 81st birthday of Dishom Guru Shibu Soren was celebrated with great pomp under the leadership of District Secretary Anil Oraon at the JMM district office on Monday. On the occasion, ZIP member Radha Tirkey, Women District President Sarita Bhagat, City President Akash Kumar, Youth President Ajay Oraon, District Secretary of Minority Morcha Mansoor Ansari, Senior member Balmukund Lohra, Bhandra Block President Parvez Ansari, Kudu Block President Shankar Oraon, Kairo Block Secretary Dhanpat Oraon and many other party leaders and workers were present.
During this, everyone celebrated the birthday by cutting the cake and applying tilak on Guruji's picture and blankets and sweets were distributed among the poor and helpless people. On the occasion, District Secretary Anil Oraon, while congratulating Guru ji on his birthday, said that Dishom Guru Shibu Soren ji spent his entire life in the upliftment of the tribal people of Jharkhand. He campaigned for the abolition of money lending and usury along with the movement for a separate state. During this period he also had to endure torture. A separate state of Jharkhand was established under the leadership of Guruji Shibu Soren. His son Chief Minister Hemant Soren is playing an important role in the progress of Jharkhand.
On the occasion, JIP member Radha Tirkey said that we need to learn from Guru ji to work in every way for the welfare of the common people. Said that the indigenous people and tribals of Jharkhand have been exploited for centuries, but now there is a government of Jharkandis in Jharkhand, which is taking care of everyone. Said that Jharkhand of Guru ji's dreams is being built. I pray that Baba lives long and his blessings continue to be with all of us. JMM women president Sarita Tana Bhagat said in her address that Dishom Guru became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand thrice. He contested elections for the first time in 1977, when he lost. After that he turned his attention towards Santhal. In 1980, he won from Dumka for the first time. He won from here 8 times. Shibu Soren also became Rajya Sabha MP twice. He has also handled the charge of the Coal Ministry at the Centre.
