The Madhya Pradesh Congress has strongly condemned the BJP government’s policies, accusing it of injustice and betrayal towards OBC, SC, and ST communities. Despite their significant population share—OBCs at 50%, SCs at 16%, and STs at 21%—these communities are being denied their rightful representation in government jobs, said Mukesh Nayak, Chairman of the Media Department of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee, during a press conference.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Media department Chairman Mukesh Nayak criticized the BJP for failing to uphold social justice, citing data that exposes the disproportionate allocation of government jobs—OBCs receive only 16.8%, SCs 10.49%, and STs 10.73% of available positions. "This is a blatant violation of constitutional values and a betrayal of the principles of social justice," he stated.
Lashing out at the BJP, Nayak accused the government of systematically suppressing the rights of marginalized communities. He recalled that the Congress government in 2019 had increased OBC reservation from 14% to 27%, ensuring fair representation. However, as soon as the BJP returned to power, it conspired to block this decision, effectively depriving OBCs of their due share. He also alleged that the BJP has deliberately stalled the caste census to prevent these communities from securing their rightful entitlements.
“This government neither believes in the welfare of these communities nor is it accountable to them," Nayak declared. "The large number of unfilled government vacancies, stalled recruitment processes, and rising unemployment among OBC, SC, and ST youth prove the BJP’s insensitivity and incompetence. It is shameful that despite their immense contribution to the state’s economy and society, these communities are being systematically marginalized."
Reaffirming the Congress party’s commitment, Nayak stated, "Rahul Gandhi has repeatedly emphasized the need for a caste census to ensure fair representation based on population proportion. If Congress comes to power in Madhya Pradesh, we will not only conduct a caste census but also guarantee proportional representation in government jobs, education, and all other opportunities. This is not just a promise but a firm commitment."
Nayak further demanded that the Madhya Pradesh government immediately fill vacant posts, ensure transparency in recruitment processes, and introduce special training programs for OBC, SC, and ST candidates. He warned that if the BJP fails to act, Congress, along with the people, will take to the streets in a decisive movement for justice.
He urged citizens to raise their voices against this injustice and expose the BJP’s anti-people policies.
Nayak also pointed out that the BJP government’s bias is evident in its policies on education, employment, and welfare schemes, where marginalized communities have been deliberately sidelined. He emphasized that scholarship programs for SC, ST, and OBC students have been irregular, making higher education inaccessible for thousands of underprivileged students. Additionally, reservations in government tenders and contracts meant for these communities are either being diluted or not properly implemented, further widening economic disparities.
He accused the ruling party of indulging in tokenism rather than implementing genuine measures for social upliftment. "The BJP merely uses these communities for vote-bank politics during elections but systematically denies them their rights once in power. The exclusion of OBC, SC, and ST candidates from various government schemes and skill development programs is proof of their deliberate neglect," Nayak asserted.
