All places blessed by the Goddess will be developed as ‘Devi Lok’

Saturday, 05 April 2025 | PNS | Datia

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that Indian culture, rooted in the philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family), considers the entire world a single family. Under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the state government is committed to working for the welfare and well-being of all based on this principle.

Liquor Prohibition has been enforced to ensure that the family environment remains healthy and that hard-earned money is spent in the family's interest. Religious towns carry a sense of sanctity, and hence, prohibition has been implemented in 19 pilgrimage sites across the state to preserve their spiritual dignity.

Chief Minister Yadav was addressing a civic felicitation ceremony held in Datia to honor the implementation of prohibition in the town, the abode of Goddess Pitambara. During the event, public representatives and citizens expressed their gratitude and admiration for Dr. Yadav’s decision to enforce liquor prohibition in Datia.

Yadav said that places across the state blessed by the presence of the Goddess, including Datia, will be developed as ‘Devi Lok’ (Abode of the Goddess). Similarly, all places in the state associated with Lord Ram, including Chitrakoot, are being upgraded under the Shri Ram Van Path Gaman Marg initiative. Likewise, the budget also includes provisions to develop sites related to the divine plays (leelas) of Lord Krishna as pilgrimage destinations.

He said the state government is working wholeheartedly for everyone’s welfare in line with the core values of Sanatan Dharma, such as "Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah" (May all be happy, may all be free of illness).

The Chief Minister also emphasized that Madhya Pradesh’s economy is agriculture-based, and the interests of farmers are paramount for the government. To ensure they get fair returns for their efforts and produce, wheat is being procured at the rate of Rs 2,600 per quintal.

He highlighted major gifts from Prime Minister Modi to the state, including the Ken-Betwa river link project, the Chambal-Kali Sindh-Parvati river interlinking project, and the approval of the Tapti Mega Recharge Project. He urged farmers not to sell their land, assuring them that these river-linking initiatives would also benefit Datia and ensure prosperous lives for farming families.

Yadav stated that in a double-engine government, people’s welfare comes first, and under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the state government has successfully delivered on its promises.

Urging the general public to avoid unnecessary expenses, the Chief Minister advised against lavish spending on weddings and post-death feasts. Instead, he encouraged families to focus on their children’s education and future, which should be their top priority.

Initiatives are underway to provide pucca houses for every poor family and ensure food for all those in need. He said the all-around development and welfare activities being carried out under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership are reflective of the ideals of Ram Rajya (an ideal state of governance).

Former Home Minister Narottam Mishra praised the Chief Minister’s decision to implement prohibition in Datia and other religious cities across the state, calling it a praiseworthy move. He pointed out how alcohol addiction causes distress to many families. Dr. Mishra added that to ensure youth get employment, Dr. Yadav has not only engaged with industrialists across the country but also abroad, resulting in many industries being set up in the state and generating employment.

MLA from Sewda, Pradeep Agrawal, also praised the historic decision of enforcing prohibition in Datia, the city of Goddess Pitambara, saying the residents are grateful to the Chief Minister for this step.
