The India Habitat Centre was alive with the sounds of both East and West in a concert that crossed cultural boundaries. The Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir and The Neemrana Music Foundation came together for an evening titled "Eastern & Western Music Treasures", filling the Stein Auditorium with music that connected continents and traditions.
More than 50 singers from Taiwan and India performed a stunning blend of Western classical pieces alongside Indian and Taiwanese musical traditions. It wasn’t just a concert, it was a celebration of shared human experience, showing how music can unite us, no matter our origins. This extraordinary event was made possible with the support of the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturer’s Association and the India Habitat Centre. Their collaboration ensured the evening was an unforgettable success.
Ferdinand Ta-Ming Ting, Executive Director of the Taipei Philharmonic Foundation, captured the spirit of the event perfectly, saying, “Music transcends borders and through this collaboration, we hope to deepen the cultural bond between Taiwan and India.”
Since its founding in 1988, the Taipei Philharmonic Foundation has represented Taiwanese music on the global stage, performing in over 30 countries. Meanwhile, The Neemrana Music Foundation has been pivotal in promoting Western classical music in India, nurturing young talent and bridging cultures through the arts. Aude Priya Wacziarg, Managing Trustee of The Neemrana Music Foundation, reflected on the collaboration, “This concert is a beautiful testament to the longstanding friendship between Taiwan and India. It’s an honour to bring our musicians together in this celebration of unity.”
The evening was not just about music, it was a celebration of how art unites people, breaking down borders and creating connections beyond words.
