Acting on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal, a comprehensive inspection drive was conducted across all 11 blocks of East Singhbhum. The initiative aims to ensure the effective implementation of development schemes and public welfare programs at the grassroots level.
Deputy Commissioner Mittal personally inspected the Lailam Panchayat in Bodam block, accompanied by Dhalbhum SDO Shatabdi Majumdar and BDO Bodam Kiku Mahato. During her visit, the DC reviewed several key facilities, including: Health Centre: The closure of the Lailam health sub-centre and the absence of paramedical staff prompted the issuance of a show-cause notice to the MOIC Bodam.
MNREGA Schemes: The DC emphasized the importance of these schemes in strengthening the rural economy and ensuring their seamless operation.
Panchayat Building and Public Distribution System (PDS): Inspections were conducted to assess infrastructure and service delivery. Schools: The status of educational facilities was reviewed.
Deputy Commissioner Mittal highlighted the importance of prompt action and coordination between block and district officials to resolve issues. "This panchayat-level inspection program ensures uninterrupted development work and addresses problems promptly to benefit the community," she stated.
The inspection drive extended to multiple panchayats across the district: Belajudi Panchayat (Golmuri cum Jugsalai Block): Inspected by Deputy Nirwan Officer. Gohla Panchayat (Musabani Block): Inspected by the Executive Magistrate of Ghatsila. Jorsya Panchayat (Patamda Block): Inspected by the District Agriculture Officer. Kalapathar Panchayat (Chakulia Block): Inspected by the District Planning Officer.
The inspections focused on ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive government services with ease. The DC stressed the need to connect deprived individuals with welfare schemes and increase awareness about available benefits.
“Public welfare schemes should reach all corners of the district. Anganwadi Centres, schools, PDS shops, and health centres are vital for community well-being, and their functioning directly impacts the lives of common people,” the DC added.
