Cheers to Culinary Champs!

The Indian Culinary Forum (ICF) held its 21st Annual Chef Awards at Hotel Ashok, coinciding with International Chefs Day. This prestigious event gathered esteemed chefs and industry leaders to recognise the exceptional contributions of culinary artists who have significantly impacted Indian cuisine on a global scale.

Among the distinguished guests was Nakul Anand, former Executive Director of ITC Hotels, who presented awards to the night’s winners. The presence of influential figures like Chef Davinder Kumar, President of the ICF and Chef Vivek Saggar, General Secretary, underscored the importance of the event in nurturing culinary talent. Chef Kumar expressed pride in showcasing the creativity and dedication of chefs, highlighting the event's role in inspiring future culinary professionals.

This year’s awards honoured 17 talented chefs across various categories, including the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, which went to Chef Sanjiv Mediratta. Other winners included Chef (Dr.) Gautam Chaudhry, who received the Golden Hat Chef Award and Chef Diwas Wadhera, who was awarded the Silver Hat Chef title. Such recognition not only celebrates individual achievements but also enhances the reputation of Indian cuisine, motivating chefs to pursue excellence in their craft.

The event was marked by a spirit of camaraderie and competition, with 150 chefs participating in rigorous culinary challenges leading up to the awards. The ICF continues to play a vital role in promoting the culinary arts in India, offering a platform for chefs to connect, learn and innovate. As the evening concluded, it was clear that the 21st Annual Chef Awards not only celebrated culinary excellence but also reinforced the community’s commitment to elevating Indian cuisine on the world stage.
