The MP Nagar police have booked a youth who threatened to kill family members of a class 9 girl student who refused to talk to him; Arera Hills police had detained him earlier but released him after reprimanding.
The accused, identified as Akash Nepali , angry at the victim for not talking to him, used to threaten the victim on Instagram.
On Ganesh Chaturthi, he reached the victim's house with a sharp edged weapon and hit the gate with it. He also vandalized the neighbourhood, a complaint was lodged in Arera Hills police station.
The family alleged that the police had let him go without taking any action. This is the reason why the accused started threatening the victim and her family again.
Later, the family along with locals reached MP Nagar police station on Friday. The police assured immediate action, then there was no protest.
Akash Nepali has threatened the student and her family by posting on Instagram.
The victim's mother said that the daughter is 16 years old. She studies in 9th standard in a government school.
The accused lives in a nearby colony. He constantly threatens the daughter on Instagram. Sends obscene messages and pressurises her to talk. When the daughter did not talk, he came home with a sword on 7 September 2024. He attacked the gate with a sword. He vandalized the neighborhood.
The matter was complained to Arera Hills police station. Then the police took him into custody but released him shortly. This is the reason why his spirits were high. We kept demanding the police to take action against the accused but Arera Hills police did not take any action.
This further encouraged the accused. He started threatening openly. He put a status on Instagram and threatened that he will destroy our family. He will create a big ruckus. Then we came to MP Nagar police station to lodge a complaint with the people of the neighborhood.
Ram Swaroop Rajput of Sanskruti Bachao Manch said that a boy named Akash Nepali along with other youths of the area threaten the people of the colony. All of them have the protection of the local MLA.
The accused had threatened us on Thursday night, even then we went to lodge a complaint. The police did not register an FIR then. On Friday afternoon we came to the police station. Then the police assured action.
The victim's family has come to our police station for the first time to lodge a complaint. Their complaint was heard immediately. We are registering an FIR. We will take appropriate action against the accused immediately.
In a separate incident a case of rape of a 20-year-old girl has come to light in Bhopal. The crime was committed on the pretext of marriage. The accused and the victim were in a relationship for the last two years. The accused has now refused to marry. Then the victim lodged an FIR of rape against him on Thursday night.
According to the Mahila Thana Police, the 20-year-old girl lives in Barkheda Pathani and does domestic work. About two years ago she met Mukesh Vishwakarma. During this time, the accused youth raped her on the pretext of marriage. Police say that the accused youth will be arrested soon. At present, the police are engaged in investigating the matter.
