Guru Purnima was celebrated with great joy on Sunday, 21st of July at Yogoda Ashram, Ranchi. Celebration started with a special online group meditation and a talk by Swami Shraddhananda Giri in Morning where devotees from all over India participated. Speaking on guru-disciple relationship Swami Shraddhananda quoted Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda’s words, “Those who want God and come to me with receptive hearts shall never be the same again” adding to this Swamiji explained that, the devotee shall be changed with the divine help that flows through Yoganandaji’s soul. He also read some excerpts from the letter written by the President and Spiritual Head of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India/Self-Realization Fellowship Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri to devotees of YSS/SRF where he encourages them to “take refuge in Gurudeva’s eternal care, then there is no challenge that they cannot face and overcome.”
Thereafter from 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m devotees attending the program joined joyous chanting of bhajans led by Brahamacharis Shambhavananda and Prahaladananda while Guru Puja was being performed. After the bhajans, hundreds of devotees as well as locals and other visitors were served Bhandara Prasad.
Ceremony ended with special 3 hour long meditation in the evening, where Swami Shankarananda Giri read extracts from an inspiring letter written by Paramahansa Yoganandaji to a devotee, emphasizing the eternal help and love of a true guru for his sincere disciples.
