The Housing Committee of AIIMS Bhopal organized a workshop titled "Sensitization towards Rational Use and Preventive Maintenance of Resources in Hospital Premises" on 14th September 2024. The event, held at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology's Seminar Room, aimed at promoting efficient resource management and preventive maintenance strategies in hospital settings.
The program began with the dissemination of event details via email to all AIIMS Bhopal employees, followed by a display of highlights on the video-wall. Dignitaries were invited, and banners and standees were installed at prominent locations, such as the IPD Gate. The event was structured into three segments: Poster Presentations, Guest Lectures, and the Inaugural Session. A total of 25 posters, prepared by staff and students from Civil, Electrical, Biomedical, and Environmental sections, along with nursing staff, were showcased at the IPD Gallery.
Key guest lectures included "Medico-engineering Research - The Way Ahead" by Col. Chiranjeev Das, SE, AIIMS Bhopal; "Rational Use of Electrical Energy and Energy Audits" by Kailash Mahato, Executive Engineer, CPWD Bhopal; and "Infrastructural Evolution of AIIMS Bhopal" by Kochar, Ex-Asst. Engineer, AIIMS Bhopal. These sessions were chaired by Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari, CMHO Bhopal; Prof. Dr. Rajkumar Patil, Department of Community and Family Medicine, AIIMS Bhopal; and Prof. Dr. K. Pushpalatha, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chairperson of the Housing Committee.
The workshop was inaugurated by Col. Dr. Ajit Kumar, Deputy Director (Admin), who emphasized the significance of resource awareness in hospitals. Guest speakers were felicitated, and the proceedings were expertly coordinated by Dr. Ashish Dixit, Medical Officer, Department of AYUSH. The poster section was overseen by Engineer MD Ali Saifi, Engineer Shivam Vijayavargiya and ANS Suchitra.
In her vote of thanks, Prof. Dr. K. Pushpalatha expressed her appreciation to Prof. Dr. Ajai Singh for his continued support, and also thanked Mohd. Kamal Ahmad, Special Director General, CPWD, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, for his encouraging words. Special thanks were also extended to the administrative staff, faculty, engineers, and nursing team for their contributions to the event's success.
The workshop saw 95 registered participants, who actively engaged in interactive sessions with the speakers, expressing their satisfaction with the insights shared. The event concluded with a high tea, fostering networking and discussion among attendees.
