Vedanta ESL Steel Limited showcased its excellence in quality initiatives by winning 7 Par-Excellence and 2 Excellence Awards at the 32nd Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts 2024 (CCQC), organized by the Bokaro Chapter of the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). The company made a strong impression with all 9 of its entries receiving awards, including a debut Par-Excellence in the Quality Circle category.
The two-day event, held at the Bokaro Club and Bokaro Steel Plant’s Learning & Development Centre, was themed "Investing in people, Building a better future." The convention emphasized QCFI’s mission of nurturing human potential through empowerment and development. The event attracted a large number of participants, including Institutional, Life, Individual, and QC members from various sectors.
Vedanta ESL’s performance came amidst tough competition, with 60 teams from leading organizations like Tata Motors, BSL, Gabriel, and ITC participating. The company’s quality initiatives and innovative projects were recognized with top honors, highlighting its industry leadership. Meenakshi Sabharwal, Chief Quality & Business Excellence Officer, and A Lavanya, Head of the Central Planning Cell at ESL Steel, were invited as judges, further underscoring Vedanta ESL’s prominence in the field of quality management.

The company’s participation in CCQC 2024 was a collaborative effort, with multiple departments submitting their projects for evaluation. Under the guidance of Sabharwal and Vinay Bhushan Kumar, Head of Business Excellence, the top 9 entries were carefully selected for the convention. Special recognition was also given to Shalu Priya, Lead of Innovation, for her seamless coordination in preparing the teams for their presentations.
