Vardan Charitable Trust, Daltonganj, under the stewardship of lady Sharmila Verma alias Shumee, today distributed warmers among the elders and the children braving acute winter at the Mushar Tola near Polpol.
Verma said "The Mushars still live in stark poverty. Their elders and children grovel in poverty and distress. There is a great need to improve their living."
"We distributed 23 blankets and 21 sweaters among the Mushars. Their joys were illimit. Our warm clothes were new. We distributed old daily use clothing too" said Verma.
She said, "I met a small child from this community. The child was without any shred of clothes on body. The child was all naked this winter. This scene was heart touching. I just made the child wear new clothes. The child had a world of joy then in a new suit."
This civil society activist said "I ask every well off family to do something for the people who have nothing over their heads nor have they anything on their body."
Verma is a serious and dedicated activist championing the cause of road safety and traffic rules. She visits schools and spreads awareness about how to avert road accidents. The local town police support her and her Vardan Charitable Trust in this good cause.
During the Covid pandemic she and her team had distributed sanitary napkins among the poor girls.
