The Uttar Pradesh government is making relentless efforts to ensure quality healthcare for patients across the state, officials said here on Monday.
On the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, preparations are in full swing to secure the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification for facilities ranging from district
hospitals to Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, they said.
In addition, health units are being prepared for the coveted Kayakalp Award. In this regard, the mission director of the National Health Mission has instructed officials concerned to conduct an external assessment of 122 community health centres (CHCs) as soon as possible, they added.
Mission Director Dr Pinky Jowel said that in line with the chief minister’s vision, health units are being integrated with advanced technology to enhance Uttar Pradesh’s healthcare infrastructure.
In a letter issued to all the additional directors and chief medical officers, Dr Jowel has instructed that external assessments of these health units be conducted between December 24 and 29.
Each facility has been assigned three assessors, with specific assessment dates scheduled.
According to the letter, an external assessment of seven CHCs is to be done in Kanpur and Jaunpur, six each in Bareilly and Siddharthnagar; five each in Kanpur Dehat and Shahjahanpur; four each in
Lucknow, Barabanki, Varanasi, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Agra, Bulandshahr, Bhadohi, and Mathura; three each in Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Sambhal, Pilibhit, Baghpat, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Saharanpur, Firozabad, Etah, Aligarh, Ambedkar Nagar, Mirzapur, and Unnao; two each in Amethi, Auraiya, and Hathras; and one each in Lakhimpur Kheri, Kasganj, and Prayagraj.
The criteria for the Kayakalp Award include better medical facilities, cleanliness and hygiene in health centres, better waste management and infection control methods.
