Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s instructions, preparations have been started for the UP Police Constable Civil Recruitment Examination, 2023 proposed in February.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has started the process of determining examination centres along with their capacity.
Under the proposal, the government can conduct examinations at about 6,500 examination centres. The total capacity of these examination centres will be more than 31.75 lakh.
The selection of examination centres will be based on basic parameters. Only those centres that meet the standards related to the examination hall have been included in the final list.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has proposed 6,484 examination centres with a total capacity of more than 31.75 lakh. Out of these, 4,844 examination centres have been proposed in zones and 1,640 examination centres have been proposed in the commissionerates.
“The green signal will be given to all examination centres only after a strict evaluation based on basic parameters. This evaluation includes determining the type of examination centre, whether it is government, government-aided, or privately categorised. Additionally, the past performance of the centre will be considered. Centres with a record of negative incidents in past exams or those raising suspicion will not be designated as examination centres,” a government spokesman said here on Friday.
Moreover, details of exams conducted by various selection commissions in these centres over the past three years will also be examined. Coaching institutes will not be selected as examination centres.
The classification of examination centres has also been done. Category A includes all government schools fulfilling the prescribed standards and located within or near the city. In Category B, all the government-funded schools that meet the prescribed standards and are located inside or near the city have been included. Category C includes reputed recognised private and missionary schools, CBSE, ICSE schools, colleges, technical institutes and universities meeting the prescribed standards and located in or near the city. Schools or institutions that have faced any disciplinary action by any commission or board will not be selected as examination centres and they have been placed in Category D.
The UP Police Recruitment and Promotion Board has also established standards regarding the examination hall. These include mandatory features such as seating capacity for candidates, the number of rooms, and the presence of boundary walls and gates in examination centres. CCTV cameras should be installed at important locations like examination halls, main gates and other crucial places. Additionally, a separate room connected to a CCTV camera is mandatory for keeping question papers at the examination centre.
Standards have also been set for transportation to the examination centre. According to this, examination centres should not be located in crowded streets, commercial institutions and places with waterlogging.
The district magistrate, commissioner of police, senior superintendent of police or superintendent of police will be the main nodal officer for arranging the examination. Moreover, the additional district magistrate, additional deputy commissioner of police or additional superintendent of police will be the assistant nodal officer.
