Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India has emerged as a rapidly growing nation, with Madhya Pradesh progressing swiftly toward becoming a future-ready state. Madhya Pradesh is actively contributing to Prime Minister Modi's vision of transforming India into a developed, self-reliant and strong nation. As a step in this direction, the state organized the Regional Industry Conclave in Ujjain, inviting prominent industrialists from across the country to inspire local entrepreneurs and establish major industrial units within the state. The recent National Mining Conclave in Madhya Pradesh proved to be a remarkable milestone, yielding investment proposals totaling Rs 19,650 crore from 11 key industrial institutions over two days—an unprecedented achievement for the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the mineral sector has immense economic potential. It also has the potential to generate employment and rapidly accelerate the country’s economy. By becoming self-reliant in the mineral sector, we can also save a lot of foreign exchange. The mining sector will be a huge force in times of global instability. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, a new revolution has taken place in the mineral sector in the country. In the mining conclave held in Bhopal, the brainstorming on topics like accelerating mineral exploration, mineral processing, use of new technologies and environmental protection will play an important role in identifying and implementing necessary policy reforms in the mining sector. Madhya Pradesh has immense potential to become the mineral capital of the country.

Chief Minister Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh is one of the major mineral states of the country with a 20 percent share in the total mines of the country. The state ranks first in the country in the production of manganese and copper ore, second in the production of rock phosphate, third in the production of limestone, and fourth in the production of coal. Malazkhand copper mine in the state is the largest copper mine in India. 5 to 10 thousand tons of copper is extracted from here every day. 70 percent of India’s total copper reserves are in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh is also the diamond state of the country.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that arrangements are being made for digital monitoring of mines and mining products in the state. There is also a plan to install an AI-based iCheckgate to stop illegal mining and transportation. Madhya Pradesh ranks first at the national level in terms of mineral block auctions. 78 mineral blocks were successfully auctioned in Madhya Pradesh, which is the highest in the country. Mineral revenue doubled in the last 5 years due to clean intentions and transparent policies. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that we have decided to celebrate the year 2025 as the Year of Industry in the state. By holding regional industry conclaves in the state and organizing road shows in metropolitan cities outside the state, while on one hand the investment possibilities are being increased, on the other hand, the role of the Global Investors Summit to be held in February 2025 is also being prepared.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that along with progress, we are also taking care of nature. The welfare of trees, plants, rivers, animals and future generations is an important part of our mining policies. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the system of working should be such that Mother Earth always remains full of resources. Along with proteins and carbohydrates, other minerals play an important role in the development of our body, similarly minerals also play a very important role in the development of India. It was our misfortune that for a long time after independence, our governments did not make far-sighted policies for proper mining, refinement and processing of this immense wealth.

Being the heartland of the country and having strong rail and road connectivity, mining in Madhya Pradesh means direct and quick access of mining products to every part of the country. This is a huge strategic locational advantage. Due to the abundance of resources, our investment-friendly policies and strong infrastructure, there is unlimited potential for investment and development in the mining industry in Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that due to the intentions and policies of the double engine government of the Center and the State, the mining industry in the state is progressing rapidly, as a result of which mining revenue has increased at an annual compound growth rate of 19 percent in the last four years. The revenue in the financial year 2020 was Rs 5 thousand crores, which has increased to more than Rs 10 thousand crores in 2024. We have been successful in doubling the revenue generated from the mineral sector in the last 5 years. Recently, Madhya Pradesh has secured first position at the national level in the matter of mineral block auction. We also received second prize for the auction of iron ore, limestone, and bauxite mines. These achievements are living proof of the far-sighted, transparent, and prompt policies of our government. Work is being done in mission mode for the refinement, refinement, promotion, and conservation of minerals in the state.
