The UCET NSS wing and ULC of Vinoba Bhave University organized a blood donation camp today, fostering community spirit and health awareness among students and staff. The event saw enthusiastic participation and was addressed by several distinguished personalities.
Vinoba Bhave University’s Financial Adviser, Sunil Kumar Singh, highlighted the critical need for blood donations and commended the students for their humanitarian efforts. He emphasized the importance of regular blood donation camps for emergencies.
NSS Coordinator Dr. Rufina Tirkey praised the collaborative efforts of the UCET NSS units and ULC. She emphasized the significance of such initiatives in inculcating a sense of responsibility and service among the youth, aligning with the core values of the NSS.
UCET NSS Program Officer Dr. Khemlal Mahto detailed the logistical efforts behind the camp and thanked the volunteers for their dedication and hard work. He provided insights into the health benefits of blood donation and encouraged regular participation in such noble causes.
ULC Principal In-Charge, Rashmi Pradhan, addressed the gathering, underscoring the role of educational institutions in promoting social welfare activities. She appreciated the combined efforts of the students and faculty in making the camp a success and reiterated the college's commitment to community service.
Nirmal Jain from the Red Cross Society also addressed the attendees, emphasizing the critical role of blood donation in emergency medical care and the ongoing need for such initiatives. He lauded the efforts of Vinoba Bhave University and expressed hope for continued collaboration in future endeavors. Many students from UCET and University Law College were present on the occasion.
Special attendees included UCET Professors Geeta Sinha, Professor Archana Dhan, Dr. Khemlal Mahto, and ULC's Urmila Kumari, Dr. Lakshmi Singh. Hundreds of students from both colleges participated enthusiastically.
Approximately 47 units of blood were collected. The successful execution of the event involved significant efforts from the Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital team, along with Nirmal Jain and the departmental staff.
The camp successfully contributed to local blood banks and ensured availability for those in need. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, organizers, and the medical team for their invaluable support.
