On the eve of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the State, the Uttarakhand Congress has posed a set of questions for him. The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara said on Monday that PM Modi is again coming on an electoral visit to Uttarakhand. He said that the people of the State always welcome the guests but there are some burning issues on which the people want the PM to comment.
He said the PM should answer as to why he has maintained a stoic silence on the murder of Ankita Bhandari. He said that the people of the State want the PM to disclose the name of the VIP involved in the murder of Ankita Bhandari.
Mahara said that the PM should also answer as to why no action was taken on those who committed theft of 230 kg of gold from the Kedarnath temple. He should also answer- why no action has been taken against the culprits of paper leak and those involved in copying scam? The PCC president said that the people also want to ask as to why the Agnipath scheme was launched which is now playing with the future of the youngsters.
Mahara said that as per the report of National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Uttarakhand tops the list of the Himalayan States in harassment of women. Mahara said that in the last Lok Sabha elections also PM Modi had made a number of promises on which the people of Uttarakhand reposed their faith by making the BJP candidates victorious by large margins. In the Assembly elections of 2017 and 2022 as well the PM had made a number of promises but the people of Uttarakhand are now feeling cheated.
