Two shooting incidents took place in different areas of the national Capital on Monday including one in Outer North Delhi’s Alipur area and Outer Delhi’s Nangloi area. However, there were no reports of any injuries in either of them.
According to the police on Monday, three motorcycle-borne men opened fire at a property dealer's shop in outer-north Delhi's Alipur area and fled the spot. Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer north) Nidhin Valsan said, "At around 3 pm an information was received regarding a gunshot firing incident near a gas agency in Budhpur area of Alipur. Teams were immediately sent to the spot and took information about the incident."
The officer further said that on inquiry it was found that three men entered the office of a property dealer and fired at the office building before running away. Teams are checking CCTV footage of the incident and to trace the accused. Valsan said that the crime team and team of the forensic science team were called at the spot. Another senior police officer added that the accused will be nabbed soon and investigation in the matter is in progress.
Meanwhile, the police stated that the other incident occurred in outer Delhi's Nangloi area. They said the target in the second case was a furniture shop. "A call regarding the firing incident was received at 1:30 pm on Monday, at Nangloi police station. Upon receiving the call, teams from the local police reached the location," Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Sachin Sharma said.
The officer said that the incident was confirmed, and details were gathered from the complainant. “It was found that while the complainant was at his shop, three boys with muffled faces, came to the shop, fired multiple rounds in air and ran away on a scooter,” said the officer.
“Police said that the spot was inspected by the crime team and on the basis of the statement of the complainant a case is being registered under relevant sections. Efforts to trace the accused persons are in progress,” Sharma said.
Another senior police officer said that they are checking CCTV footage to know entry and exit routes of the accused. “They will be identified soon and will be nabbed,” the DCP said.
Police sources said the shooters in Nangloi left behind a chit with the name of gangster Ankesh Lakra scribbled in it, along with a Rs 5 crore ransom demand.
