The central government has brought a new law regarding the hit and run case. Truck drivers were the first to protest against this. These truck drivers are escaping away leaving their trucks parked on the roads in different districts of the state.

On the other hand, transporters say that if this law is not withdrawn soon or amendments are not made in it, its impact will be visible across the country. The association is preparing for a nationwide strike in this matter.

Information about trucks being parked is received from many districts of Madhya Pradesh, which mainly include Bhopal, Indore, Jalabpur, Rewa, Satna, Gwalior, Ujjain, Betul, Singroli, Sagar.

All Motor Transport Congress New Delhi Chairman CL Mukati said that currently information is coming from many places regarding this matter that truck drivers are leaving their vehicles. Although we have also appealed. Apart from this, we have also written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah in this regard. In which we have written to them asking them to reconsider withdrawing the law. If the government refuses to withdraw the law, we will all protest together and block the road.

The meeting will be held on January 2

President of All India Motor Transport Congress, Amritlal Madan said that we are going to hold a meeting of transporters from across the country on January 2. Further decisions will be taken in this. After this rule, heavy vehicle drivers are leaving their jobs." Amritlal Madan said that in the Indian Justice Code 2023, there is a provision of 10 years' imprisonment for the drivers guilty of accidents, which is putting our transport industry in danger. Expressing his concerns regarding the A provision, Amrit Madan said, "There is definitely a need to take strict action in hit-and-run cases and the government's intention behind it is also good, but the proposed law has many flaws. On which there is a need to think again.

There may be a strike in January

The next meeting of All India Motor Transport Congress is on January 2. In which a decision will be taken that if the government does not accept their demands, then how to present their side to the government. There is a possibility that the organization may go on strike in the coming time. This strike may take place in the first and second week of January.

More than 4 lakh trucks run in Madhya Pradesh. More than 10 lakh people get employment. This includes drivers and cleaners and others. This number is more than 30 thousand in Bhopal and Indore. A total of 95 lakh trucks run across the country.
