East Singhbhum: In preparation for the upcoming assembly elections, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal convened a crucial meeting with all district enforcement agencies involved in election expenditure supervision. The meeting, held in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, reviewed the roles and responsibilities of enforcement bodies during the election period.

 Mittal emphasized the importance of real-time coordination among the agencies, urging officers to remain proactive in maintaining a temptation-free, fair, and fear-free election environment. He directed the officers to use the ESMS App (Election Caesar Management System) for monitoring election-related expenditures and required that all activities be promptly recorded online.

A key focus of the discussion was monitoring the transport of cash, liquor, narcotics, precious items, and any potential election freebies. The District Election Officer emphasized daily reporting on seizures and enforcement actions, which must be submitted online to the Election Office.

He also instructed enforcement teams to enhance vigilance, particularly after the Model Code of Conduct comes into effect. Check posts and surveillance cameras will be installed along inter-district and inter-state borders, with FST (Flying Squads) and SST (Static Surveillance Teams) activated to monitor suspicious activities. Banks were directed to report any transactions or withdrawals exceeding ₹10 lakh to the enforcement agencies and the election expenditure team.

The meeting was attended by the Railway Superintendent of Police, Project Director ITDA, ADM SOR, Director DRDA, District Transport Officer, Deputy Election Officer, Sub-Divisional Officer of Dhalbhumgarh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, along with representatives from Income Tax, Excise, LDM Bank, Postal Department, and other nodal officers of the enforcement agencies.
