Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu on Sunday flagged off the first-of-its-kind ‘5 Takht’ special pilgrim train from Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded in Maharashtra. This special train is dedicated to the Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj Parkash Parv (birth anniversary) and will connect five sacred Sikh shrines — Patna Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, Fatehgarh Sahib, Damdama Sahib, and Amritsar Sahib.
The 12-day pilgrimage, which is free of cost, will accommodate 1,300 devotees, with over 20,000 expected to pay their respects at each stop. Langar facilities will be provided throughout the journey to ensure the comfort and spiritual nourishment of the devotees.
Bittu highlighted that this initiative by Indian Railways aims to strengthen the connection between people while promoting spirituality and nationalism. He also mentioned that under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, special attention is being given to developing various railway stations in the Marathwada region.
The ‘5 Takht’ train is set to return to Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded, on September 6, marking the completion of this significant spiritual journey.
